About Me
I’m Chef Fernanda Baggio — a chef obsessed with pasta, creativity, and chasing perfection one fold at a time. From Brazil to the Michelin-starred kitchens of San Francisco, I’ve built my career turning tradition into art. Born in Mamborê, Brazil, I was entranced by my grandmother’s cooking — the way a simple meal could bring joy and connection. Early on, I realized that food was my superpower: a way to express emotion and make people happy. My formal training at Le Cordon Bleu in Canada laid the foundation, but pasta became my language through self-teaching, curiosity, and endless experimentation. When the world changed during the pandemic, I launched “All You Need is Pasta”, a monthly handmade-pasta kit subscription that kept me creative, connected, and grounded. This project opened the door to join Acquerello, one of San Francisco’s most celebrated Michelin-starred restaurants, as Sous Chef of Research & Development, where I helped maintain the restaurant’s Michelin Star and contributed to its recognition with the prestigious Tre Forchette Award from Gambero Rosso. In 2023, I was recognized by the United States government for my expertise in pasta earning the Extraordinary Ability Visa. Today, I lead the kitchen at Sorella, Acquerello’s vibrant sister restaurant, as Executive Chef. In 2025, my team and I proudly received a Michelin Guide Recommendation, a recognition that celebrates our commitment to excellence, creativity, and flavor. Now based in the heart of the Bay Area, I continue to create dishes that connect memory, technique, and emotion — sharing my passion for pasta and the art of storytelling through food.
